Welcome
Left Coast Crafted is a celebration of all things CRAFTED: food, drinks, and art as well as the towns in Oregon and the surrounding states that make up the LEFT COAST. It’s a West Coast Travel Guide exploring all the West has to offer.
West Coast Travel Guide
The West Coast is dotted with various cities along the Pacific that I have called home. Equated with palm trees and sandy beaches, snow-covered mountains teeming with laid-back snowboarders, historic gold rush era towns and bustling metro hubs. I love exploring! I make it a goal to travel somewhere new every year. Sometimes it’s a nearby location that I haven’t yet visited or sometimes it’s to points more distant. Left Coast Crafted is my way of sharing my travels. To explore everything from quirky towns to local festivals to where to find the best local food and drinks.
The Best of the West – Small and Local
Whether in my own neighborhood or when traveling, I seek out small and local businesses. I admire things made with love on a small scale. Be it beer or bread, music or art. We in the west revere small businesses. People are loyal to the neighborhood bakery, coffee roaster, and specialty food crafter. They shop at the local farmers market, grow their own vegetables and seek out their favorite craft beer and local wine.
I grew up in Southern Oregon surrounded by a bounty of fresh produce and independent restaurants. Some of my earliest memories are of my grandfather’s garden, to which he devoted countless hours. The results resembled something out of a fine art coffee table book and the taste surpassed the beauty. It’s that dedication to mastering a craft that I’ve always admired.
I want to tell the story of these crafters and their creations while exploring the beautiful West Coast. Left Coast Crafted is my notebook. It’s my way to reach an audience who has the same interest in this topic as I do. A way to not only feature these crafters but to share recipes made with these goods. To highlight towns in the west and to write about everything from visits to some of my favorite vineyards to where to find a great Mexican mocha.
